2016 Resolutions: A Year of Growth

Updated: Jan 14, 2021

Well, I am beginning one of my New Year’s resolutions as I type. As I look back at the past year, there are so many fond memories and so many things I wish I could change. However, so many of the things I might regret continue to shape me into the man that I am this moment. That rings true for every accomplishment and failure that I have experienced- it molds me into the Joshua Vickery of today.

As I look ahead into the next year, I truly want to continue this adventure, living life to the fullest and making a difference in the lives of those around me. What about you? Of course, we would all say that but what steps are YOU taking to ensure that your life is exactly what you dream it could be? New Year’s resolutions are not meant to be broken- they are meant to be strived for, pursued, and accomplished. They are the things you know will make you a better YOU.

One of my resolutions is to write this blog. To share with you life (although mine has been short it has been filled with things I can share to encourage you that you might not know about me) ,the arts (this passion and love that I devote everyday of my life- I am going to prove to you through writing how it makes a difference in the lives of people) community ( the relationships and building blocks that encourage us, make us stronger, shoulders to cry on and simply living). I hope you will subscribe and read as maybe something will encourage your day.

Here are my other resolutions for this year. Have you inscribed yours on the palate of your heart and mind?

  • Carve out more intentional, quality time for my family and loved ones. Nothing should be more important.

  • Travel as much as I can fit into my schedule.

  • Mentor a group of leaders and be mentored by a hero.

  • Support and help grow the mission of Central Christian. Fully grasp the unconditional love of God.

  • Write a blog about the arts and community.

  • Lose 15 lbs. and eat healthier.

  • Add Visual Arts to CFCArts.

  • Find the funding to hire someone to lead our arts and wellness initiatives. I’m passionate and determined in this area of our influence.

  • Learn to trust and stand up against my insecurities.

  • Be committed to making sure my team always feels loved, encouraged, appreciated and supported.

Much Love,

JV
